I miss when it was simple

Waking up in the summer at 12
Running the house like I were a wild child
Painting crazy designs on my favorite tee-shirts
Trying out every color nail polish known to girl
Swimming every hour
forgetting to take my showers
Playing in the rain as if I could never grow sick
Staying up late as if I forgot the hour
Movies all day, movies all night
Oh how stars were such a lovely sight
Fireflies, ladybugs, building homes for ants
I could go on forever, wouldn't that be called a rant?
Making a stranger my new best friend
I would get married but it was just for pretend
Ringpop rings I liked mine in blue
If I had more than one that would be two
Living in a tent outside my house
Running and screaming when I seen mickey mouse
Thought of everything I felt so alive
Simple it all was, a living prize
